Sam is a freelance theatre director and writer from London with experience in film making and a focus in proper-belly-laugh comedy (not the polite snortle of theatres).
After completing an art foundation at Wimbledon School of Art, he trained in direction at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama where he co-founded and continues to direct for Parrot in the Tank Theatre company.
Sam was invited back to RCSSD to teach a course in devised theatre soon after graduating before he headed to Paris to continue training at L'École Philippe Gaulier.
Parrot in the Tank were artists in residence at the artsdepot theatre London and named as one of the 'Top 100 Theatre People' to follow by Whats On Stage.
Sam wrote and directed Black Dog Gold Fish which was awarded Arts Council Funding to develop in 2015 after a successful crowd-funding campaign.
He recently won a UKMVA for his music video for Marika Hackman's 'My Lover Cindy'.
Whilst working as the video director for Tim Crouch's collaboration with Spymonkey titled The Complete Deaths, he was invited to direct physical comedy Graeme of Thrones. The show had a month long sell-out run at the Leicester Square Theatre and has embarked on a world tour of the UK, Australia, New Zealand, America and Canada, before a run in London's West End.
